Administrative history
On October 5th, 1954, Twenty-one wives of the local Y’s Men’s Club met at Pat Rowe’s home to form a new Y’s Menettes Club of Woodstock. The first President elected was Barb Cleaver.
Over the years the Club held numerous money-raising events; including bridge, euchre, and bowling tournaments; and the monies raised were used to purchase equipment, sponsor children for memberships, as well as helping children in need attend summer canoe trips through the Woodstock Y.M.C.A.
Due to fledgling numbers, the Woodstock Y’s Menettes Club disbanded in the mid 1990s. On May 8th, 2002 a reunion dinner was held at the Oxford Golf and Country Club.
Custodial history
The records were created by the Woodstock Y’s Menettes and were later transferred to the Oxford Historical Society. In November 2012, the records were transferred to the County of Oxford Archives by Eleanor Gardhouse; a member of the OHS.
