Administrative history

The first annual Oxford County Festival of Music was held in May 1949 and was jointly sponsored by the Oxford County Registered Music Teachers Federation and the Kiwanis Club of Woodstock. When the Kiwanis disbanded in 1965 the Woodstock Rotary Club took over organizing the festival along with the Oxford County Branch of the Ontario Registered Music Teachers’ Association. Over the years, the festival has been held in various local churches and high schools and scholarships are awarded to students to help defray the costs of their music studies.
