Administrative history
Wood-Mosaic was founded in 1883 by Dr. C.E. Rider in Rochester, New York for the manufacture of fine parquetry flooring. In 1922 the headquarters was moved to Louisville, Kentucky and by the early 1930s additional mills were acquired at Huntington, West Virginia; Jackson, Tennessee; Monitcello, Kentucky; Hannibal Missouri; and Woodstock, Ontario. Located at 100 Mill St, Woodstock, Wood-Mosaic Limited helped pioneer a new type of pre-finished hardwood flooring under the name PARKAY. The Woodstock branch changed its name in 1966 to Maclean and Murray Ltd. and by the 1980s was no longer in business.
