Administrative history

The West Lorne Sun and Rodney Mercury were purchased by Ernest Lashbrook in April, 1921. He operated them as separate entities until merging them in 1932 as the Rodney Mercury-Sun. Ernest Lashbrook sold the Mercury-Sun to his son, Lynn Lashbrook, in 1949, and in 1950 Lynn Lashbrook acquired a second newspaper, the West Lorne Express, soon renaming it the West Lorne Sun. When publisher-editor Lynn Lashbrook retired in 1989, the papers were sold to Leader Publications.
