        History

In May 1967, the Computer Centre Committee was established by the Rector. It was replaced by the Computing Advisory Committee on November 18, 1969, which in turn was abolished to make place for the present Advisory Committee on Computing on July 1, 1972. The Committee is a standing advisory committee appointed by the Rector which reports to the Administrative Committee through the Secretary of the University. It formulates and recommends medium term and long-range goals for computing services; reviews the allocation of available computing resources and, when necessary, makes appropriate recommendations; and, provides comments and recommendations on proposals for the acquisition of computing equipment and services.
