Biografie
T.M. Hunter was an Historian and Professor of History. He was stationed at Canada House in London England as Canadian Army Historical Liaison Officer from 1 October 1947 to 31 July 1950. He returned to Canada in 1950. From 1958 until 1965, Hunter served as Senior Historian at the Army Historical Section and, in later years he became a professor of History at Carleton University.
Geschiedenis beheer
T.M. Hunter's diary formed the original basis of the fonds and was sent to the Army Historical Section. Additional material was added in 1997-1998.
Bereik en inhoud
Fonds consists of a diary detailing T.M. Hunter's duties and activities as Canadian Army Historical Liaison Officer while in Englsnd during 1947 to 1950. Includes a newspaper clippings file (1947-1958) containing a selection of clippings on a wide variety of topics including: current events (foreign and Canadian), book reviews, Canadian militay history, honours and awards, British history, world history and projected Directorate of History publishing projects. Also includes research notebooks on 21 Army Group and pre-invasion planning), a date book, miscellaneous papers presented at Canadian Historical Association 1962 Annual Meeting, and miscellaneous articles and drafts.
