Administrative history

Staffordville Pastoral Charge was formed in 1925 and included: Staffordville, Vienna and Port Burwell. It is still an active charge of the United Church of Canada.

Bayham United Church, located at 9729 Duke Street in Straffordville, was established in 1925, formerly Methodist. It began as a part of the Vienna Methodist Cirucit ca. 1853-1854. In 1865, it became part of Bayham Circuit. A church was constructed in 1883. It joined the United Church of Canada in 1925. A new church was built in 1964. It is still an active congregation of the United Church of Canada.

Vienna United Church formed in 1925, formerly Methodist. Services began in the 1830s at various sites and for a time the congregation was part of the Malahide Circuit until Vienna Circuit was created in 1853, although the name changed back and forth with Point Burwell. In 1907 Vienna Circuit included Vienna, Point Burwell, Wagoners, and McLeans. It disbanded in 2000 with the amalgamation with Port Burwell United Church.

Port Burwell United Church was established in 1925, formerly Methodist. Services started in the community ca. 1850. It joined the United Church of Canada in 1925. It was also known as St. Paul’s Port Burwell. In 2000 the church amalgamated with Vienna United to become St. Paul’s Port Burwell-Vienna United Church. St. Paul's Port Burwell-Vienna United Church closed in December 2014.
