Administrative history
St. Andrew's United Church, located at 60 West Avenue in St. Thomas, was established in 1926, formerly a union mission. The West Avenue Union Mission was established in July 1914 to provide worship services in the south-west section of St. Thomas. The mission joined the United Church in the spring of 1926 and the name was changed to St. Andrew;s United Church. The congregation was part of a two-point charge with Homedale United Church in St. Thomas in 1953-1954, and then again in 1958-1963. From 1954-1958, it formed part of a two-point charge with Talbotville United Church, and later it was a charge with St. Mark's (1965-1968). It is still an active congregation of the United Church of Canada.
