Saskatchewan Area Headquarters was formerly Military district No. 12 (established April 1st 1943). It was redesignated Saskatchewan Area Headquarters and operated at Regina under the jurisdiction of the Army Area Commander, Army Headquarters (AHQ) Prairie Command, Winnipeg until August 31st, 1959. After that date and until its disbandment in March 1966, the Saskatchewan Area HQ was under the Western Command located in Edmonton, Alberta.

Fonds consists of eleven files documenting the organization and mobilization planning, as well as outline plans and the planning operations and readiness for the Canadian Army Saskatchewan Area between 1950 and 1964. Also includes notices from Army Headquarters, Prairie Command, Winnipeg for 1950-1958. Includes messages, correspondence, minutes to meetings, memoranda, reports, drafts and other documents.
