Custodial history

The collection was in the custody of Carrie Sumsion and Graham Robertson, of the city of Woodstock, before being donated to the County of Oxford Archives in June 2014.

Scope and content

The fonds consists of yearbooks, booklets, and badges, as well as teaching and programme information related to the Woodstock General Hospital School of Nursing. It also includes Constitutions, By-laws and Policies, as well as News Bulletins related to the Nursing School’s Alumni Association. In addition to, the fonds includes several published books, brochures and pamphlets related to the fields of nursing, health, and medicine.

Immediate source of acquisition

The County of Oxford Archives acquired the fonds from Carrie Sumsion and Graham Robertson, of the City of Woodstock, in June 2014.

    General note

    Box 2 containing published books, brochures and pamphlets related to the fields of nursing, health and medicine is not kept in the vault along with the rest of the fonds collection. The material was considered worth keeping for display and teaching purposes only, as they do not fit the archival mandate of the County. However, they do complement the rest of the collection. Therefore, Box 2 may be found with the display materials located in the processing room.
