Administrative history

The Quota Club Intenational began as an offshoot of the Kiwanis organization although they were not officially attached. It was intended for women in executive or major supervisory positions, however this was somewhat changed over time to attract more members.
Wanda Frey Joiner was the individual who organized and inspired the club and Quota is an International club. Particular seminars were directed to the conditions existing for women and children in developing countries and for other needs , such as hospital equipment, hearing aids for people (particularly children) who were unable to purchase one.
Members were of diverse occupations and either still active or retired. In early years, men were nor accepted. Later they were welcomed (due to legal decision that organizations had to accept everyone).
The St. Thomas club was chartered in 1974. It closed ca. 2006 due to the same problems as other service clubs: lack of new members and older members unable to meet the needs of the club.
