    Scope and content

Series consists of photographic prints created and/or collected by Brampton resident Betty Odlum. The photographs document a wide variety of subjects and properties, including numerous parades (including military, Brampton Flower Festival, & Sesquicentennial), the Dale Estate, train stations & railway cars, local streets (including Hurontario Street (Main), Queen Street, Lorne Avenue, Isabella Street, Rosedale Avenue, & others), various local properties including municipal buildings, businesses, churches & private dwellings, and area parks, lakes, & bridges. Also found within the series is an album of material pertaining to the Town of Brampton’s Centennial celebrations and Royal visit in 1973, as well as documentation of outhouses found throughout Peel in the 1970s. Finally, this series contains one of the oldest known photographs of downtown Brampton, documenting the corner of Main and Queen in the 1870s. Related material can be found in the photographic slide series.
