        History

        William Arthur Parks was born in Hamilton Ontario, Canada on December 11, 1868. He graduated from the University of Toronto (BA, 1892; PhD, 1900). He joined the staff of the University of Toronto as a Geologist/Paleontologist in 1893. Parks was one of the founders and original directors of the Royal Ontario Museum. d at Toronto 3 Oct 1936). Parks conducted research in northern Ontario. Parks authored more than 80 scientific papers on Canadian building and ornamental stones, Paleozoic invertebrate fossils, descriptions of Alberta dinosaurs. William Parks was a fellow of the RSC and the Royal Society of London. William Parks died in Toronto on October 2, 1936.
