Biographical history
Osie F. Villeneuve (1906-1983) was a federal and Ontario Progressive Conservative politician from 1948 to 1983.
Villeneuve was born in Maxville, Glengarry County and worked there with his father in the family butcher and driver business.
In 1948, he successfully ran as a Conservative for the Provincial Legislature. Villeneuve was subsequently re-elected in 1951 and 1955. In 1957, he resigned his seat in the Legislature and successfully sought election to the House of Commons but was defeated in 1962. After that, Villeneuve turned his attentions to provincial politics, successfully contesting elections in 1963, 1967, 1971, 1975, 1977 and 1981.

Scope and content
Fonds consists of the political records created and received by Osie F. Villeneuve. It contains political correspondence, speeches, and subject files created and collected by Villeneuve in his capacity as Progressive Conservative member of the Ontario Legislature and the Parliament of Canada. Fonds also includes Villeneuve's constituency offices records, 1966-1983.
In addition, fonds includes 36 photographs of Osie Villenueve, his wife, and various official functions and 3 election posters.
Fonds also contains 6 videocassettes of the following: Osie Villeneuve Appreciation Night, 1983; tributes to Osie Villeneuve; and an interview of Villeneuve by Doug Fisher on the programme, Insight.
