Biografie

Norman Thomas "Tom" Long (1916-1992) was born in Port Hope to Alfred Henry Clarke Long and Edna Alice (nee Gibson) on 22 Jul 1916. He worked as an insurance agent, ticket agent, and real estate agent, during his years running the Long Brothers Insurance Agency in downtown Port Hope. He married Mary Alicia Edith "Maunie" Emeno (1923-2007), and the pair had two daughters. Tom was an avid local historian, collector, and very knowledgeable about the history of Port Hope. He died on 15 Oct 1992, and is buried at Port Hope St. John's Anglican Cemetery.

Series consists of newspaper clippings and information on the Molson's Mill Art School, c1955-1981. It includes a type-written excerpt from "The Barley and the Stream" by Merrill Denison (1955). Articles were clipped out of the Port Hope Evening Guide by N. Tom Long.
