Julie and Morris Norman live and work in Toronto. Both are avid collectors of Canadiana including material relating to the Canadian National Exhibition. They purchase items at antique shows as well as lots at auction and donate the material to the appropriate archives. The Julie Norman Collection was donated to the CNE Archives in 1998.
Scope and content
This collection consists of the individual items collected by Julie and Morris Norman. The records relate to the Canadian National Exhibition and include printed items, photographs, postcards, artifacts, posters and ephemera. The material has been described at the file level, or, where appropriate, the item level.
There are eight distinct series of records within the collection including: CNE promotional material (produced by the CNE Association); CNE exhibitor promotional material (produced by individuals and companies exhibiting at the CNE); off-season exhibitor promotional material (produced by exhibitors that staged exhibit or other events on the CNE grounds, but not during the actual fair); CNE-related printed material (material related to the CNE but not produced by the CNE or exhibitors); postcards; photographic prints; posters and artifacts.
