Administrative history

Open to boys and girls between 8 and 21 (age varies in each province), 4-H has been helping develop well-rounded, responsible and independent youth in Canada since 1913. Members engage in technical skill development, projects and other fun Club activities. Members have the opportunity to travel in Canada and beyond on exchanges, participate in cutting-edge provincial and national conferences, and are eligible to apply for national scholarships.

Custodial history

The records associated with this fonds were donated to the Innerkip Museum by local residents. Upon the closing of the Museum in October 2005, these records were transferred to the County of Oxford Archives.

Scope and content

The fonds consists of a Treasurer’s Book (ca. 1972-1992) and a Scrapbook of various materials related to the operation and activities of the Innerkip West 4-H Club between the years 1980-1982. Such materials include:

Minutes of the Meetings (or Secretary Reports) of the Innerkip West 4-H including such groups as the Homemaking Club, Munchkins, “Breadwinners”, Quilting Club, Etiquette for the 80’s, Social Recreation, etc.

Immediate source of acquisition

The County of Oxford Archives acquired the fonds from the Innerkip Museum in October 2005.
