Administrative history

Established in 1873, by Harry Rowland, of Ingersoll, the Oxford Tribune was initially a conservative journal. Over the years, it would evolve into a weekly newspaper and, by the turn of the century, the name changed to Ingersoll Tribune. In 1905, E.L. Smith and Son assumed management of the paper and the newspaper offices would eventually relocate to 115 Thames Street South on the east side of the river. In 1949, Thomas Roche Lee took over the business which also included a large printing operation. A few years later, in 1952, Walter Arthur Wood assumed operations of the newspaper and printing business. In 1967, the newspaper published a special centennial edition.

The Ingersoll Tribune, which eventually incorporated the Thamesford Tribune, was published until 1970, when it would succumb to competition from the Ingersoll Times; a weekly which operated for nearly fifty years before ceasing publication in 2018.
