The fonds consists of 12 letters written by Alexander McPherson to members of his family, including his mother and his brother-in-law. The majority of the letters were written while he held the position of Manager at Plantation Nos. 17 & 18 in Berbice, British Guiana and the remainder represent the period following when he settled at Whitby.

Andrew Finnie II fonds

Fonds is comprised of approximately 105 historical photographs, family genealogy documents, various company shares, wills, and land documents pertaining to the family of Andrew Finnie II (1820-1908), resident of South Monaghan Township and farmer from the 1850s onwards. The photographs pertain largely to descendants, some of whom moved to Manitoba and sent photographs of themselves to the home farm in South Monaghan; many fine examples of photographs taken by Peterborough photographers in the 19th century are included. This fonds also includes detailed genealogical information compiled by the donor about the people represented in the photographs; also included are the donor’s detailed descriptions of the textual documents.

This series contains records concerning the involvement of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Pembroke with St. Joseph’s Hospital in Barrhead, Alberta. The records cover the establishment of the hospital, the administration and operation of the hospital, the transfer of the hospital, and the Sisters’ involvement with the Catholic Hospital Association and the Alberta Hospital Association. Materials include financial records, agreements for the purchase and sale of property, annals, memoirs, pamphlets, booklets, newsletters, lot maps, hospital floor plans, hospital bylaws, correspondence, and photographs. The major topics within the correspondence include establishing and operating the hospital, finances, the purchase and sale of property, construction and renovations, Catholic hospitals and medical ethics in Alberta, the changing role of Sisters in the hospital, and the relinquishing of ownership of the hospital. The photographs are of the hospital and Sisters at various events and locations.

The Burwell Family fonds is primarily comprised of the peronal and buisness papers of Hannibal Burwell (1825-1886), his son, Alfred E. Burwell (1871-1943) and his daughter Hannah Alberta Eliza Burwell (1864-1929), later Mrs. David Williams.
•There are 20 related artifacts including two family bibles, a portable writing desk belonging to Hannibal's father, Mahlon Burwell (1783-1846), a prominent surveyor, Justice of the Peace and MLA, Albert Burwell's South Africa War medals and volunteer service medals and a portrait of Mahlon's daughter Louisa Burwell (1818-1834).

This collection comprises documents received in response to an Access to Information request addressed to Indian and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC) by the Corporation of the Town of Deseronto, Ontario, in 2008. The request asked for copies of documentation submitted as part of the Culbertson Tract land claim of the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte and upon which the decision to allow the claim had been based.

The documents in this collection are all photocopies of materials located in public archives in Canada. The materials range in date from 1779 to 1959 and record the interactions between the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte and the British and Canadian governments, in relation to lands, from the time of their departure from the Mohawk Valley to the mid-twentieth century.
