This photograph is of Mavis Flewelling who retired from the teaching profession after 40 years. She is pictured here with retirement gifts. She started her career in Isham Saskatchewan. She married Lloyd Flewelling and moved to Arthur Ontario where she taught at the No. 9 Peel School. She later taught at the Alma School and teaching special education classes for 12 years. She finished her career teaching grade two.

This photograph shows three students from John F. Ross and their constructed slide rule that they were trying to achieve the world record for. The rule was 56cm wide and 13.25m long. It contained functions for multiplication, division, square roots and cube roots. The Guinness record at the time was held by a school in Newmarket. Duke Of Edinburgh's Awards

Felipe Hazard was the recipient of the Gold Award from the Duke of Edinburgh. The University of Guelph student earned a bronze in his first year of his studies at the University of Guelph and earned the gold this year for his work on a 50-mile canoe expedition, work with St. John's Ambulance, and participation in yearbook as a photographer. The 116 recipients received a certificate and a pin at a ceremony held in Ottawa.

Virginia Parker had been a member of the Wellington County Board of Education since its inception in 1969. She had five children in the school system and was very invested in the work the board did. She was part of the program that gave the secondary schools their own teaching philosophy and she evaluated the structure and work habits of other Ontario Boards. She also conducted a study involving parents, teachers, and students to create a larger community program for Wellington County.
