Northern Woman Journal began as a newsletter covering feminist issues for readers in Northwestern Ontario, and developed into a journal featuring political stories at the location, provincial, national, and international level, fiction and artwork, personal stories, letters and opinions, and information on local events.

The Journal's creation was closely linked to the community of feminists including Margaret Phillips and the management of the Northern Woman Bookstore.

Correspondence, business documentation, staff resources, photographs, and Literacy Group documents, kept by Margaret Phillips of the Northern Woman's Bookstore, of Thunder Bay, Ontario. The store opened in 1984 and had locations on Bay St. and Court Street, before having to close its physical location in 2016.

The photographs are arranged by subject matter and cover activities in and around the town of Deseronto, Ontario. The majority date from the late nineteenth century and many depict the lumber-related industries of the Rathbun Company in Deseronto. There are also photographs of school groups, churches, railways, First World War airfields and portraits of Deseronto citizens.

Fonds consists of records created and accumulated by Marilou McPhedran through her activities as a lawyer, legal reformer, and activist. These records illustrate the breadth and variety of McPhedran's work in the areas of constitutional reform, women's international and national rights, women's health, and violence against women and children. Series consists of t-shirts and buttons accumulated by Marilou McPhedran and pertaining to her activities, associations and interests, particularly women's rights. Included in this series are t-shirts produced by the Women's Legal Education Action Fund (LEAF), Healthy City Toronto, and the National Action Committee on the Status of Women. The buttons in this series are personal, made using family photographs, and protest/organizational buttons.

This fonds consists of one scrapbook relating to the public life of Barbara Hanley. The scrapbook contains correspondence, telegrams, pictures, an article, and newspaper clippings. The correspondence, telegrams, and newspaper clippings primarily concern Barbara Hanley’s election as Mayor of Webbwood. The pictures consist of two photographs of Hanley and one group photograph. The article was written by Hanley on the subject of civic responsibility for a secondary school magazine. The newspaper clippings are from local and national papers.

Fonds is comprised of records created by or collected by Stephen Ogden documenting the Tiny Township Stop Dump Site 41 campaign. Dating 1979 through 2016, it represents a significant episode in Canadian environment activism and is comprehensive in scope. Among the materials included are: notes for speeches; transcriptions of government environmental assessments and WYE Citizens Group meetings; WYE Citizens Group press releases; maps and records of water well locations near Site 41; hydrological and geotechnical records pertaining to the watershed characteristics of the Site 41 area; MOE correspondence and statements relating to proposed dump site management, waste management and related technological considerations; Simcoe County “Corporate Services” records including meeting minutes and agendas, notifications, memorandum, notes, correspondence and emails, and media clippings; court proceedings and legal documents obtained through Freedom of Information requests made by Stephen Ogden; photographs, dossiers for exhibits; audio-visual materials including cassette tapes, VHS tapes, CDs and DVDs.

Fonds consists of 17 minute books of the Quinte Women's Institute and the group's Tweedsmuir history, which includes postcards, press clippings and photographs. Also included is a banner for the institute, history of the institute and files of loose papers for each minute book (letters, receipts, newspaper articles, reports, programmes and newsletters).
