Harry LeRoy Babcock fonds
Fonds · 1887-1980, predominant 1916-1977

Colonel Babcock always intended to write his memoirs, but a busy life intervened. The contents and arrangement of his papers reflect this intent but unfortunately much of the research is incomplete. The papers are grouped roughly by subject, usually a military unit and then chronologically. The holograph items are limited. Much of the fonds consists of clippings, ephemera, keepsakes and the like. Scouting and the James Taylor material were given special treatment in his filing system. There is also a limited file on the establishment of Adolphustown Provincial Park and a file about issues with local ferries. Many of the photographs in the fonds are snapshots, undated and identified only by nicknames. The books are stories from the First World War. Fonds is comprised of the following series: World War One Royal Air Force, 1918 Frontenac Regiment, 1920-1936 Militia, 1914-1945 Clippings about military history Personal interests, including Legion and P.C. Party Boy Scouts, 1922-1979 Personal letters and memorabilia, 1969-1980 House of Commons debates, 1980 Scrapbook about 146th Battalion, 1915-1917 Scrapbook of Frontenac Regiment, mostly 1923-1936 Photographs, 1916-1945
