File consists of an Agricultural Mutual Assurance Association Policy, for Joseph Cooper of Clarke Township, Lot 1 Con 5. Insurance for dwelling house, contents, barn, shed, driving shed and contents of out buildings, 1870-1872.

The fonds consists of 12 letters written by Alexander McPherson to members of his family, including his mother and his brother-in-law. The majority of the letters were written while he held the position of Manager at Plantation Nos. 17 & 18 in Berbice, British Guiana and the remainder represent the period following when he settled at Whitby.

File consists of a Transfer between John Charles Ambrose, his wife Julia Ambrose, of Brighton, England; George William Bawhee, Palmerston England, William Jackson, England to Thomas Hitchcock Ambrose and Henrietta Ambrose, Mortgagers on land situating in the town of Port Hope, lot 77 in original town plot, west side of Cavan Road. Instrument # 6863. Property is where the Ambrose Brewery was located.

Fonds is comprised of approximately 105 historical photographs, family genealogy documents, various company shares, wills, and land documents pertaining to the family of Andrew Finnie II (1820-1908), resident of South Monaghan Township and farmer from the 1850s onwards. The photographs pertain largely to descendants, some of whom moved to Manitoba and sent photographs of themselves to the home farm in South Monaghan; many fine examples of photographs taken by Peterborough photographers in the 19th century are included. This fonds also includes detailed genealogical information compiled by the donor about the people represented in the photographs; also included are the donor’s detailed descriptions of the textual documents.

The Burwell Family fonds is primarily comprised of the peronal and buisness papers of Hannibal Burwell (1825-1886), his son, Alfred E. Burwell (1871-1943) and his daughter Hannah Alberta Eliza Burwell (1864-1929), later Mrs. David Williams.
•There are 20 related artifacts including two family bibles, a portable writing desk belonging to Hannibal's father, Mahlon Burwell (1783-1846), a prominent surveyor, Justice of the Peace and MLA, Albert Burwell's South Africa War medals and volunteer service medals and a portrait of Mahlon's daughter Louisa Burwell (1818-1834).

Fonds consists of journals and photographs dated 1860-1908 pertaining to Hugh Caldwell Sr. of Chandos Township, Peterborough County, and his son Hugh Caldwell Jr. The journals were received in original format and as digital scans. Also included are a small number of family records dating to 1987.

Series consists of land records, financial records, and correspondence related to the sale of John Cleverton's farm located on Lots 29 and 30 of Hamilton Township to Sarah Jane Long and Alfred H.C. Long, 1918-1926.

File consists of correspondence regarding the sale and rental of property to D. Chisholm, 1870. It is unclear who this is in regards to as George Brogdin died in 1868.

Item is a pamphlet advertising for building lots located in the Cranberry Heights and Pinegrove Subdivisions in northwest Port Hope, c1950s. The pamphlet includes contact information for Long Bros., the exclusive agents for the development, as well as a map of the area. The subdivisions include the following streets: Jane Street, Freeman Drive, Scriven Boulevard, Jocelyn Street, Ralston Drive, Trefusis Street, Southby Place, Victoria Street, Heneage Street, and Keith Place.

Item is a brochure on Cranberry Heights and Pinegrove Subdivisions. Exclusive agents for the subdivision were Long Bros. Insurance and Real Estate with offices in Cobourg, Port Hope and Colborne. This collection comprises documents received in response to an Access to Information request addressed to Indian and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC) by the Corporation of the Town of Deseronto, Ontario, in 2008. The request asked for copies of documentation submitted as part of the Culbertson Tract land claim of the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte and upon which the decision to allow the claim had been based.

The documents in this collection are all photocopies of materials located in public archives in Canada. The materials range in date from 1779 to 1959 and record the interactions between the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte and the British and Canadian governments, in relation to lands, from the time of their departure from the Mohawk Valley to the mid-twentieth century.

Fonds consists of records created or collected by two families related by marriage, the Clarks and Curries of Chinguacousy Township. Fonds includes correspondence, legal and land records, accounting ledgers, petitions to township councils, ephemera, copying and penmanship exercises, and photographs. Records largely relate to domestic affairs (including farming and exchanging of goods) and legal matters (especially land transactions and the settling of estates).

Records from both the Curry and Clark branches of the family were inherited by an ancestor, Ida Curry Clark. An appreciable part of the records on both sides date from before the intermarriage of the two families (when John Clark married Jane Curry). Because the records can readily be associated with one or another of the two branches, the fonds has been arranged into two series as follows:

File consists of one (1) document registered at the registry office for the Port Hope Mechanics Institute. The document outlines the purpose of the Institute and it's chartered members. The members each paid $5.00 and signed their names as members. Some of the legible signatures include: David Smart, H. G. Taylor, J. Galbraith, W. Quay, J. B. Trayes, Duncan Chisholm. File consists of a "Discharged" machine and a "Registered" perforating machine, once used at the old Land Registry Office of East Durham. Both machines are Cummins No. 15 Perforating Machines; Cummins Perforating Co., Chicago and New York.
