Ottawa Police Liaison Committee files

Records documenting the activities of Carroll Holland in her capacity as a part-time staff member of the Ottawa-Carleton Police Liaison Committee for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Communities. Records focus on her involvement with the Community Access Project and as Project Coordinator for the Barrier Elimination Plan (BEP) Project. Records document meetings of the Liaison Committee and those pertaining to the two projects, project planning and activities, and articles written by Holland in Capital Xtra! and other publications.

Series consists of various certificates and plaques awarded to individuals and the Port Hope & District Hospital for achievement. It includes: (1) Training School for Nurses - Mabel Ball Nursing Degree, 20 Aug 1919; (2) Appreciation Certificate to the Hospital Auxiliary for contribution to the community from the OMA and the Northumberland Medical Society; (3) Accreditation of the Port Hope & District Hospital, 1988 and 1993; (4) Congratulating the hospital on its 80th anniversary - citations from Jean Chretien, Christine Stewart (MP), Joan Fawcett, and Brian Mulroney; (5) Mounted certificate from the Canadian Police Association - Public Service Award. Lord and Lady Willingdon Portraits

File consists of two (2) prints which originally hung in the Port Hope & District Hospital. Lord Willingdon served as Governor-General to Canada 1926-1931; One of Lady Willingdon and one of Lord Willingdon, both autographed.

Port Hope Hospital and Moose Lodge Certificate

Item is a presentation certificate from the Port Hope Moose Lodge to the Port Hope Hospital. The presentation was made at the Capitol Theatre, March 30, 1938. The cardboard of the back of the frame had the following written on it "Presented January 1938 Oxygen tent presented to the Hospital by Moose L on March 30th at the Capitol Theatre."

Isabel Jones' Nursing Diploma

File consists of a diploma received by M. Isabel Jones St. Louis (1897-1987) on 15th October 1919. Diploma is signed by the president, secretary, superintendent and mission of the Port Hope Hospital Training School for nurses, established in 1916. The diploma was presented to the Port Hope and District Hospital as Ms. St. Louis was the last surviving of that graduating class. It hung in the Port Hope & District Hospital until it closed.

Port Hope Hospital Guest Book

File consists of a Visitor Register / Guest Book from the Port Hope Hospital, 1913-1952. Visitor register for the Port Hope Hospital on Ward Street. The register was used for events and guests, government officials and signatures for the boys and girls choir from St. John's Anglican Church; and includes signatures of Lord and Lady Willingdon, 16 May 1930.
