The Dr. F. W. Luney fonds consists of 14 series (and 2 subseries) of records chronicling his scholarly beginnings as a medical student at the University of Western Ontario, his appointment as Senior Pathologist at Victoria Hospital, and the extent of his professional career as Clinical Laboratory Chief at St. Joseph’s Hospital until his retirement in 1961. During his career, Dr. Luney would enlist in the Canadian Army Medical Services Division during WWI, establish a Clinical Pathology Laboratory at St. Joseph’s Hospital in 1928, conduct extensive research in blood transfusion techniques, direct the opening of the Blood Bank Department and St. Joseph’s Hospital in 1945, establish private consulting services for smaller hospitals in southern Ontario, and create the Dr. F. W. Luney Fund to raise funds for the Medical Library at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Records of note include: well-maintained, original photographs of Dr. Luney and fellow classmates posing with a cadaver; records created to document body parts and organs donated to Luney’s private “Museum”; personal notebooks outlining his medical training and professional experiences; a selection of diplomas and certificates; records of his $5,000 donation to the Medical Library at St. Joseph’s Hospital; photographs depicting the two-person multiple syringe apparatus he invented; notes from lectures and seminars that he gave on pathology and blood transfusion-related subjects; and a 60th anniversary portrait of Dr. F. W. Luney with his fellow 1914 graduates.

Fonds illustrates Ella N. Martin’s work as a senior lecturer at the Royal Ontario Museum and her interest in improving museum education. The fonds is arranged into twelve series, which span her entire career from the late 1930s to the mid 1970s. The fonds includes correspondence, publications, photographs, personal papers and journals, lecture notes, drafts of a book, student reports, course instructions, teacher evaluation forms, interpretative text, film and radio scripts, worksheets for children and other materials. The fonds also contains an accession record.

Fonds consists of personal and professional records created by Gilbert and Stewart Bagnani and their families, chiefly in Europe, North Africa, and Canada, for the most part between ca. 1910 and 1955, comprising photographs of Gilbert Bagnani's travels and archaeological work in Italy, Greece, Turkey, Libya and Egypt in the 1920s and 1930s; a motion picture of his activities in and around Tebtunis in Egypt in 1934; correspondence between the Bagnanis themselves, Gilbert Bagnani's mother Florence Bagnani and other family members; photos of the families of Gilbert and Stewart Bagnani, including 19th-century photo portraits of their Dewar, Houston, and Robinson relatives; a collection of copy prints and glass slides of art and antiquities used by Dr. Bagnani in his university teaching; audio recordings of Dr. Bagnani lecturing; albums of clippings and memorabilia of family and social events; miscellaneous printed, typescript and manuscript items; photos of the Bagnanis at Trent University in the 1980s; an album of postage stamps; and other material.

Series consists of files created and accumulated by Marilou McPhedran pertaining to an Ontario Human Rights complaint filed against Osgoode Hall Law School and York University Dean Harry Arthurs and the resulting formation of the Institute for Feminist Legal Research at York University. McPhedran was one of more than 100 lawyers, law students and legal academics who were signatories of this complaint, which charged systemic discrimination against women after Osgoode Hall Law School did not promote Professor Mary Jane Mossman to the position of dean. The records in this series document the process of settling the dispute, the meetings and activities of the complainants' steering committee, and the details of the settlement made between the complainants and York University. These records include memoranda, newsletters, notes, correspondence, minutes of settlement, memoranda of agreement, agendas, reports, draft documents, invoices, and notices.

The collection includes textual, audiovisual and sound documents about the 1963 strike and the Reesor Siding shooting. Three of the series mainly contain reproductions of newspaper clippings as well as various textual documents. Documents pertaining to Paul Doucet’s play Le silence d’une tragédie can be found in one of the series. There also is a series containing the funeral cards of the three strikers who lost their lives during the shooting. The last series contains sound and audiovisual documents.

The collection includes six digital photos of the Canada Fowarding Company’s installations in Carey Lake and four digital classroom photos from École Sainte-Thérèse in Hearst, in 1951-1952.

The fonds contains audio and photographic documents related to Rollande Boutin’s personal experiences as a young school teacher in Northern Ontario.

The fonds contains textual records relating to the Franco-Ontarian community between 1925 and 1962. In addition to a few documents relating to the Immacculée-Conception parish, information on different francophone organizations to which the parish was affiliated can be found. Much of the documents focus on the Association canadienne-française d’éducation d’Ontario (ACFÉO). Among the documents are letters, pamphlets, reports, studies, newspaper clippings, press releases as well as some publications.

Fonds consists of one photograph of Percy Zealand in uniform, c. 1914-1918. It also includes eight sketches created by Percy Zealand in art class, Port Hope High School, c. 1910.

Fonds consists of material from Humber Orangeville. The material is divided into four series, documenting administrative matters, Humber's engagement with the broader Orangeville community, facilities planning and use, and communications and promotional materials. The fonds includes a wide range of materials, textual, photographic, moving image, architectural plans, and other types.

The collection contains the 19 issues published between January 1979 and November 1983. The newsletter examined the economic, environmental, political and social challenges then facing Northern Ontario communities.
