Series consist of a collection of legal documents likely typed by Alfred Henry Clark Long to showcase his skills as a typist, 1898-1899. It includes: Church v. Baird, Church v. Radcliff (26 Nov 1898); Midland Trust Company assignment of T. Dixon Craig (23 Mar 1898); Church v. Radcliff Examination (29 Nov 1898); Winslow and Miller v. Elliott and Company (28 Sep 1899).

File consists of correspondence and financial records created by Arthur T.H. Williams, 1852-1882.

File consists of six (6) printing blocks and one (1) small shipping box, 1965. The printing blocks were produced by Geo. Wilson and Sons (Guide Printing) for Austin Cottages, Shanty Shore, Rice Lake, Keene, Ontario. The blocks contain two (2) maps, and several images of cottages and activities tourists could enjoy at Austin's Cottages; all were used to produce tourism pamphlets for the business. The blocks were originally shipped in the small card board box addressed to: Mr. C. Vardy, Geo. Wilson and Sons, 118 Walton Street, Port Hope, Ontario. The rental cottages were owned by Fred and Hazel Austin of 11 Bloomsgrove Avenue, Port Hope.

Item is a Printer's Proof of the Bible Christian Preacher's Plan, 1883-1884. Notes indicate 150 copies were needed for October 25, 1883. Schedule shows locations, preachers, times and dates. Places listed: Welcome, Zion, Mount Pleasant, Port Britain, Trelawney. Preachers: R. T. Courtice; H. E. Bayle; A. Clarke; R. Hurley; T. Brown; M. Giles; W. Tamblyn; J. Nott; W. Bradley; S. Taylor.

File consists of correspondence received by the firm of George Brogdin, and later Brogdin & Boulton between 1848 and 1867.

Series consists of one (1) autograph album originally owned by Josephine Caroline Stuart Grant when she attended Brookhurst School in Cobourg, c1878-1881. The book contains passages from literature, personal messages, signatures, and small drawings, by Josephine's classmates and others whom she encountered during her time at Brookhurst, and living at Ballintruan in Port Hope.

Fonds consists of newspapers, photographs, financials, and personal documents relating to the professional and private lives of Carl Mantz, including his wife Elizabeth Gibson. Included in the fonds are records pertaining to the purchase and maintenance of the Whitby Weekly News building, correspondence and letters regarding his enlistment in the RCAF, programs and background information for the Ten Centuries concerts, and the meeting minutes for his initiatives concerning Whitby senior citizens. Of particular interest are the newspaper photographs which represent various events, people, and places of Whitby in the 1950s and 1960s. The fonds is composed of the following series: Elizabeth G. Gibson records, 1969; Personal records, 1931-1980; Community Involvement records, 1962-1975; Financial records, 1938-1971; Clippings; and Photograph 1950s-1960s.

File consists of correspondence between Tom Long and W. Arnott Craick, author of "Little Tales of Old Port Hope" from 1964-1966. During this time Peter Schulz of the Port Hope Guide wished to reprint the book. Correspondence concerns the reprinting, receiving permission for reprinting and photograph sources.

File consists of correspondence between McLaughlin, Peel & Fulton and F. W. Wilson regarding the purchase of property in Saskatchewan, 1908-1912.

File consists of correspondence regarding the sale and rental of property to D. Chisholm, 1870. It is unclear who this is in regards to as George Brogdin died in 1868.

Item is an invitation to a Social Assembly at the home of David Gillespie, King Street, 17 Apr 1843. One hundred (100) invitations were printed. The men involved with the assembly were: John Linn, Samuel Hutton, George Henderson, James Nelson and David Gillespie.

File consists of an essay written by H. R. S. Ryan on the 100th anniversary of the Baldwin Act. The essay was published in "Ontario History" in 1950 under the title "Echoes from the Minute books: Notes on the proceedings of the Board of police of Port Hope, 1834-1849" pages 184-204. The essay details early history of the town and its residents. Footnotes are given to document sources. It also includes the original transcript of the essay by H. R. S. Ryan.
