Series consists of photographic prints created and/or collected by Brampton resident Betty Odlum. The photographs document a wide variety of subjects and properties, including numerous parades (including military, Brampton Flower Festival, & Sesquicentennial), the Dale Estate, train stations & railway cars, local streets (including Hurontario Street (Main), Queen Street, Lorne Avenue, Isabella Street, Rosedale Avenue, & others), various local properties including municipal buildings, businesses, churches & private dwellings, and area parks, lakes, & bridges. Also found within the series is an album of material pertaining to the Town of Brampton’s Centennial celebrations and Royal visit in 1973, as well as documentation of outhouses found throughout Peel in the 1970s. Finally, this series contains one of the oldest known photographs of downtown Brampton, documenting the corner of Main and Queen in the 1870s. Series consists of photographic slides created by Brampton resident Betty Odlum. Betty was an enthusiastic amateur photographer who took pictures all around the Town of Brampton (and sometimes beyond). Her slides document a wide variety of subjects and properties, including various parades, the Dale Estate and other greenhouses, train stations and railway cars, local streets, various local properties including municipal buildings, businesses, churches and private dwellings, the Malton Airport, Bell Canada Brampton employees, area parks, lakes, and creeks, flower beds, and a small number of farms. Related material can be found in the photographic print series.

Royal National Life-Boat Institution, life-boat services

Item is a page, likely used in fundraising for the service. It features three stories of rescue by the Royal National Life-Boat Institution, a list of the 233 lifeboat stations under their management (in England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland), the rescues of the institution in 1871, and a small summary of financials and awards received. Featured rescues are the wrecked schooner Hero, by the lifeboat Centurion of Walmer, Kent, United Kingdom on 16 October 1872; the French ketch the Zébre [sic, Zèbre], by the lifeboat Dr. Hatton of Littlestone, 26 October [1872]; and the Lily, trapped on the Hasborough Sands, by the lifeboat British Workman of Palling, Norfolk, 26 October 1872.
