The fonds consists of minute and cash books, Tweedsmuir history books, photographs, house histories, local histories, and subject files pertaining to the activities of the Yarker-Colebrook Women’s Institute. There are two Tweedsmuir histories in the fonds. One of the Tweedsmuirs is more traditional in scope; it focuses on the history of the villages and the Women’s Institute. The traditional Tweedsmuir contains photographs of the village of Colebrook, including pictures of Main Street before the fire, newspaper articles, information and photographs of boys who served in World War II, information from the Canada Directory pertaining to the area, from 1857 and 1858, pictures of past Yarker-Colebrook Presidents, a history of Yarker, including its settlement and the evolution of the Simcoe Falls, and a history of Colebrook. The second Tweedsmuir is a collection of newspaper clippings and was mainly assembled by Mrs. William Jackson. It contains a number of articles about the Royal Family, including photographs from magazines. It also has some history of Women’s Institute work, articles about World War I and World War II, a history of Brookside School, as well as photographs of members and programmes. Collection consists of publications, policy statements, research reports, conference and educational documents, and newsletters accumulated by Professor Linda Briskin in the course of her research on women and equity in organized labour in Canada. The documents were published by or about local, provincial, and national organizations, including the Canadian Labour Congress, provincial federations of labour, Canadian and United Auto Workers, Canadian Air Line Employees' Association, Canada Employment Immigration Union, the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union of Canada, the Committee for Cleaners' Rights, International Ladies Garment Workers Union, Metro Labour Council, Union of Provincial Government Employees, Canadian Union of Public Employees, Ontario Secondary School Teachers' Federation, Public Service Alliance of Canada, United Steelworkers of Canada, Registered Nurses Association of Ontario, and the Windsor Hospital Clerical Workers Union of Canada. The collection deals with equity in collective bargaining units, including issues of sisterhood and solidarity, education, human rights, anti-racism, aboriginal issues, affirmative action, violence against women, and the impact of technological change. The documents are arranged into files by organization, and they reflect the equity initiatives undertaken by unions to transform organizational practice and culture in order to ensure fairness and representation for women and members of other equity-seeking groups.

William Porte family fonds

The fonds consists of materials related to the personal and business activities of William Porte. Included are diaries, ledgers, and albums and scrapbooks of newspaper clippings. Some material from two of his children (Fred W. and Ida Kate Porte) is included. William Porte’s papers provide an excellent snapshot in the life of a growing Ontario town in the late 19th century. In recent years, Porte's personal papers have been studied and cited extensively, most notably by those researching the infamous February 4, 1880 murder of the Donnelly family. Item is a poster originally pasted on the back the handwritten words of what the poster was to read in regards to the stolen animal. The poster was commissioned by William Berry, 3rd Concession of Hope Township. Comments on poster indicate that 50 were printed and the cost was $1.50. This piece is believed to be a printer's proof.

Posters employ a variety of media and processes, including silkscreen and photocopies. Some of these posters were featured in Will Munro: Total Eclipse, July 31 – September 26, 2010, part of the Toronto Now series of exhibitions at the AGO. Silk-screening of many of the posters was carried out by Michael Comeau.
