This photograph shows a panel discussion with many perspectives held at a registered nurses association of Ontario (RNAO) meeting. The panel discussed extraordinary methods of keeping people alive and who has the right to the final decision of life or death.Pictured are some of the panel participants: Reverend C. H. This photograph shows a group of new brownies who were added to the 28th Guelph Pack in addition to two girls, Laura Rankin and Jennifer Mogk, who moved up from brownies to guides.The brownie girls pictured are: Sherri Ann Edwards, Sheila Owen, Lisa Johnson, Carrie Anne Tremain, Susan Leitch, Rhonda Lee Sacrey, Jenelle Bonadies, Shelly Brown, and Christina O'Dowd.

The Guelph Horticultural Society gave out trophies to groups or individuals who made great conservation contributions. The winner for this year were Dr. R. J. Hilton, the director of the Arboretum. The Junior Conservation Award went to Kathy Allan, a GCVI student who worked at Niska Wildlife Foundation and raised money for Kortright.

This photograph shows children learning the Ukrainian craft of egg painting from Mrs. Nadia Poluch at the children's library. This was part of a larger event called the creative leisure festival that invited lots of community groups and crafty individuals to show their work and get kids interested in various hobbies. Some of the groups featured were the camera club, stamp club, orienteering club, macrame, model planes, and yoga.

This photograph shows Will Klassen (Waterloo Collegiate), and Brent Graham (GCVI) during the annual chess tournament held at GCVI despite the bad weather. The winner of the tournament was Bart Brazil from Glenview Park in Kitchener.

This photograph shows Elsa Christensen receiving a $100 bursary from Mrs. R. A. Logan, president of the Guelph General Auxiliary for her participation in the Candy Striper program. Ellen Bowden (left) is the convener of the program and Mrs. J. W. Day accepted a bursary on behalf of her daughter Cindy. Other volunteers were given caps, pins, bars and ribbons for the number of hours they worked.

This photograph shows the Ukrainian community of Guelph who put on a Christmas Carol concert at Willow West Mall. In addition to the concert there were traditional decorations, gifts, and baked goods on display.

This photograph shows John Louttit, Brian Robson, and Rowan McLean who were presented with scarves by leader Peter Wood. This took place at a ceremony held at St John's United Church in Belwood. The scarves reflected the pack colours.

This photograph shows Nadia Belej and Wally Migus with a traditional Ukrainian Christmas table setting. This was part of a concert and display at Willow West Mall put on by the Guelph Ukrainian community. Also pictured is the Zwisda, the Christmas star that is part of the nativity scene and was carried around by the carolers.

This photograph shows the girls from the 3rd Guelph Girl Guide Company from Harcourt United Church that were awarded with cords at their season end potluck event. Six girls received Canada cords and five girls received all-round cords. Canada cord recipients included: Sandra Willoughby, Becky Tanner, Sophie Wilson, Catherine Middleton, and Kim Malison. All-round cord Recipients included: Donna Anderson, Katherine Harrison, Sharon Ford, Kathy Lynn Flander, and Beth Burns.
