Series consists of photograhs depicting the people and places of early Vaughan as well as the post offices throughout Vaughan Township (Norberta wrote a book Chatting About the Post Offices of Vaughan Township, Ontario, published 1983), Norberta was also a long-time journalist with the Woodbridge and Vaughan News and thus some of the photos she used in her articles can also be found in this series.

This large collection contains letters from family and friends to Charles and Stella Wagar at Napanee, Ontario, as well as letters from their children, some of which were written during World War Two. Much of the material reflects the leisure interests of the family including fraternal orders such as the Oddfellows, Masons and Rotary and patriotic endeavours such as Red Cross. There are three scrapbooks kept by Allan Walters when a boy during the First World War and six scrapbooks kept by Margaret Walters, c1920-1925. The fonds contains a large quantity of ephemera such as greeting cards and local calendars, travel souvenirs, as well as mementos from meetings, concerts and plays held in the Napanee, Ontario area. There are classroom notes from all three children, including some notebooks kept by Margaret Walters while studying nursing. From Stella Walters came a large collection of sheet music which she used at home and during her many public performances, and another series of cook books. There is also some memorabilia from the Wagar family during the 19th century. Fonds consists of documents and ephemera kept by Mrs. Babcock when she entered a seniors’ residence. Some were saved for legal reasons but most had sentimental value to her. Included is a Christmas card sent home by sapper, Wilkie Laird in 1918 and a blue cotton armband worn by Harry Babcock at the Legion in 1929. There are many letters of congratulations and certificates of appreciation. Most of the records consist of letters written to Mark Young Stark and his wife, Agatha, in Dundas. Correspondents include friends and family in Scotland or friends and colleagues in Upper Canada. Of the Scottish letters, those from Stark’s stepmother (Mary Bannatyne) and aunt (Grace Young) are the most numerous. Some letters predate Stark’s immigration to Canada in 1833. Other letters were written to his wife and to their daughter, Mary Ann, after Stark’s death in 1866. Topics addressed in the letters revolve around personal and family news but occasionally touch on current events, including politics and ecclesiastical affairs.

Fonds consists of photographs, correspondence, and miscellaneous documents pertaining to the Atwood family of Lakefield, Ontario. Also included are materials pertaining to Anne Atwood's family, the Traills; a sketch identified through an accompanying note as Ernest Shackleton; and correspondence between Edwin Guillet and explorer George M. Douglas.

Fonds consists of 312 postcards received or collected by members of the Plowman family. The fonds has been arranged as follows:

The postcards have been arranged chronologically. Undated cards have been placed at the end of the sections. The majority of the postcards are addressed to either 120 MacPherson Avenue (Toronto) or 96 MacPherson Avenue (Toronto), while the remaining 11 postcards are addressed to various hotels, inns, sanatoriums, and homes in Buffalo (NY), Rochester (NY), Long Beach (CA),San Francisco (CA), Petaluma (CA), and San Benito [?] (CA).
The collection includes greeting cards for birthdays, Easter, Christmas, New Years, Halloween, St. Patrick's day, the 4th of July, Valentine's day, Mother's day, and Thanksgiving. The collection also includes popular novelty cards such as photographic portrait postcards or postcards decorated with glitter. Numerous postcards depict buildings and streetscapes, the aftermath of the San Fransisco earthquake of 1906, and advertisements for barbershops, department stores, and hotels.

File consists of the Last Will and Testament of Joseph Cooper, Port Hope who died on 21 Aug 1876. The will was originally written in 1826.

Fonds consists of papers related to the personal and professional life of George Brogdin, c1830-1890. It includes legal documents created by Mr. Brogdin's law practice in Port Hope, ON. For more detailed information please refer to file and item-level descriptions.

Item is a handwritten letter discussing a large number of deaths and the procession in Toronto. Letter is dated July 5, 1866. The author of the letter is A. P. Rice, writing from B. A. Cottage, Toronto, C. W. and speaks also of his studies in Toronto. References in letter are made to "F. Little" and "Elijah" (believed to be Elijah Rice 1843-1920).

Series consists of a thirty-six (36) page photograph album, with fifteen (15) pages of black and white and sepia coloured photographs. Photographs include Walton Street, Drill Shed on Queen Street, Midland Railway station, 1878 flood, rural scenes, unidentified family portraits. It also includes images from Cleveland.

Item is the death notice of Edward Smith, aged 65 years on 31 Aug 1891. Former resident of Peter Street. Interment at Union Cemetery.

File consists of four (4) oversized pages from a scrapbook accumulated by the donor's grandfather, c1945-1965. It includes information and handwritten notes on the following: Statement regarding the unionization of Nicholson File Company of Canada Ltd. by J.R. Giffen, Port Hope Evening Guide, c1950; the development of the national flag of Canada, 1964-1965; "Six Years of War Against Germany" timeline; various clippings regarding the early history of Port Hope; and a hand-written poem signed "Gill"

File consists of five (5) sets of papers originally owned by Arthur T.H. Williams. It includes: (1) Page removed from an unknown book inscribed to "Arthur T. H. Williams from his affectionate Mamma Sarah S. Williams" also inscribed to "Lilian Williams from Papa Penryn;" (2) Four (4) postcards, dated 1880 addressed to A. T. H. Williams; (3) Envelope stamped 1861 addressed to "Arthur H. Williams Esq Port Hope C. W.;" (4) Envelope addressed "Arthur T. H. Williams Esq MP Ottawa, O." 1881; (5) A postcard postmarked 1907 sent to Mrs. Passmore, Hill & Dale, Port Hope. Scene on front is "R. N. W. M Police Barracks Regina tower is where Louis Riel was hanged."
