Le fonds comprend des documents relatifs au projet de construction du hall d’honneur de l’ARC au Musée national de l’aviation (maintenant le Musée de l’aviation et de l’espace du Canada), lorsque John Arnold a agi en tant que conseiller en conception et conseiller artistique. Les documents comprennent des propositions d’artistes et d’architectes, une ébauche du rapport de John Arnold au Fonds du mémorial de l’ARC, des dessins techniques, des photos, des notes sur des réunions et autres sujets, et de la correspondance avec les différents acteurs du projet. De façon générale, le fonds est classé dans l’ordre où il a été reçu, comme en témoigne l’inventaire préliminaire annoté qui a été ajouté à la fin des dossiers originaux. L’archiviste a regroupé certains documents de correspondance en fonction des correspondants, comme l’indiquent les annotations de l’inventaire.

Le fonds se compose des archives professionnelles de Jacques C. Beauchamp, ingénieur de ponts devenu plus tard directeur général des structures à Travaux publics Canada (TPC). Le fonds contient aussi des articles et rapports rédigés par Beauchamp sur la conception, la construction et l’évaluation des ponts ainsi que des documents produits par son personnel. On y trouve en outre des dossiers sur la création du complexe fédéral Place du portage, à Gatineau (Québec), et des ponts fédéraux qui traversent la rivière des Outaouais.

Le fonds comprend également plusieurs dossiers sur le rôle de TPC dans l’évaluation de la faisabilité et l’étude des propositions pour le projet du pont traversant le détroit de Northumberland, entre l’Île-du-Prince-Édouard et le Nouveau-Brunswick, projet qui a donné lieu à la construction du pont de la Confédération. Sont inclus des documents historiques décrivant les plans préliminaires du pont et le rôle du gouvernement fédéral dans le projet, des dossiers d’étude de faisabilité et des propositions de première ronde présentées par des entrepreneurs.

Le fonds contient aussi des dossiers traitant des divers types de pont (à haubans, en béton, à poutres caissons, etc.), de normes de construction, d’évaluations environnementales, de données sismiques, etc. Il comprend également des photos et diapositives représentant des ponts interprovinciaux, la construction des installations olympiques à Calgary et des types de ponts variés.

Les documents sont classés en six séries d’archives.

Le fonds contient plusieurs documents émis par des gouvernements, dont avait besoin M. Angus pour l’exploitation de son bateau en tant que navire de plaisance. On y trouve quatre laissez-passer saisonniers émis par le ministère des Transports du Canada pour la période allant de 1939 à 1943, pour l’écluse de Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue. Le fonds comprend une grande collection de documents imprimés concernant la Voie maritime profonde/Voie maritime du Saint-Laurent, de 1894 à 1969. On y trouve des descriptions, rapports et soumissions des gouvernements canadiens et américains, de niveaux fédéral, provincial, étatique, régional et municipal. Le fonds contient également des documents d’associations, dont des groupes de pression américains favorables ou contre la voie maritime. On trouve en outre des articles de journaux, de revues et d’autres publications traitant de la voie maritime et des coûts/bénéfices du projet, ainsi qu’un manuscrit de Wright, des épreuves et des critiques de son livre The St. Lawrence Deep Waterway: A Canadian Appraisal (1935), en plus de chronologies, de présentations et de soumissions de Wright portant sur la voie maritime. Le fonds comprend quelques lettres de Wright, la plupart demandant de l’information sur la voie maritime. The majority date from the late nineteenth century and many depict the lumber-related industries of the Rathbun Company in Deseronto. There are also photographs of school groups, churches, railways, First World War airfields and portraits of Deseronto citizens.

The records of the Works Department, RG 6, are arranged and described at the series level, with corresponding file and item lists, and consist of 6 metres of textual and photographic material, 1 scrapbook of newspaper clippings, 442 items/sets of architectural plans, and 10 artifacts. The fonds documents the activities of the Works Department in fulfilling its mandate to implement the Exhibition Place capital works program; maintain all Exhibition Place equipment, buildings and property; and to provide services to concessionaires, renters, exhibitors and other Exhibition Place departments.

Series RG 6-0-1, Works Manager's Files, RG 6-0-2, Assistant General Manager of Operations Files, RG 6-0-8, General Services Manager's Files and RG 6-0-9, Maintenance Manager's Files, form a continuum of records documenting the day-to-day management and operation of the Works, General Services and Maintenance Departments.

Series RG 6-0-3, Electrical Department Files, RG 6-0-4, Building Files, RG 6-0-5, Capital Project Files, RG 6-0-6, Photograph Albums, RG 6-0-7, Architectural Plans, RG 6-0-11, CNE Department of Works Scrapbook, illustrate the many facets of the capital works program at Exhibition Place, directed by the Works Department, and the constant evolution of the CNE grounds and buildings.

In addition to textual material, the fonds includes some unique artifacts, series RG 6-0-10, a collection of zinc printing plates designed by the Works Department to produce general floor plans of CNE Buildings that could be customized with the details of specific jobs or projects.

The series consists of records kept by the General Superior office for use in the administration of the community in London, Ontario. Material is primarily from the period during which Sister Margo Ritchie held the office, but it also contains material from when Sister Mary Diesboug and Sister Valerie Van Cauwenburghe held the position. This series contains twelve subseries relating to the operations, missions, and activities of the congregation. This includes the Medaille Retreat House, Josephs’ House, the Detox Centre, My Sister’s Place, St. Joseph’s Hospitality Centre, Elizabeth Place, St. Stephen’s House, the Southdown Project, Holy Rosary House in Windsor, the Goderich convent, and the Sisters of St. Joseph in Alberta. There is also material related to the hospitals in London, Sarnia, and Chatham administered by the Sisters and the transfer of operation of said hospitals to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance and St. Joseph’s Health Care Society. There is material related to the construction of a new residence, especially concerning the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) standards of the new building, and relocation of the Sisters from Mount St. Joseph to this new residence.

There is also material related to the various meetings of the congregation, from the more informal Community Days to the more formal Assemblies and Chapters. Chapters are formal congregational meetings where major decisions, such as amalgamation and leadership positions were voted on. There are voting records from the 2011 Special Chapter and the 2009 Oneness Project in this series. There are also reports from the Leadership Circle, Chapters, and committees within the congregation. There is also material from the Federation of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Canada, an organization made up of all the Congregations of the Sisters of St. Joseph in Canada. There is material from the Federation and the London congregation’s systemic justice efforts and the Sisters’ efforts towards concerning the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. There are various newsletters from the Federation and the London congregation. The series also includes administrative correspondence and speeches presented by the General Superior to the congregation.
