The second series, Subject Files, contains sundry materials that were not used in Tecumseh’s Bones. There is also some duplication from the first series, Reference Files. The letters and emails contained in the third series, Correspondence Files, document the investigation into the mystery of Tecumseh’s bones, as well as the process by which the findings were published. Materials related to military operations of the 1812-era, research of the late Dr. Frederick C. Drake, of the History Department at Brock University. Original folder titles, pertaining to an institutions call numbers, were retained and appear in parenthesis after the given folder title. The folders were placed into the Series and/or Sub-series which coincided with its original title. Folder titles contain the title of the material as well as the institution from which it derived in order for proper accreditation to be given, before materials are used and/or cited in a publication. Folders titled “Individual or Family Papers” contain numerous different collections of letters from the Institution marked on the folder. When the bulk of the materials belong to one collection it is noted in the finding aid. All publications which the University did not hold were placed in series IV. If the University had access to the publications they were removed from the collection and noted in the separated materials category with their call numbers. Fonds includes materials related to the Grape Growers of Ontario from the late 1940s to the early 1990s (non-inclusive). Most duplicates were removed from the collection and only a sampling of promotional materials were retained, as most of the materials are already in the Grape and Wine Festival Collection (RG 75-3). All clippings were removed from general correspondence and placed in a separate series, unless directly mentioned within the correspondence, they remained with original material. Media releases were separated from general correspondence and are arranged chronologically as is the Administrative, Correspondence and Public Relations Series. The Photographs Series is arranged alphabetically. Negatives are counted by the strip and not by individual frame, unless the negative only includes 1 frame. Fonds contains materials related to the Niagara Parks Commission attractions, events and development from the late 1940s to early 1980s. Most duplicates were removed from the collection and only a sampling of tourist information (pamphlets and brochures) were retained. All photographs were removed from general correspondence and placed in a separate series; however photographs relating to a specific attraction or event remained with original material. Media Releases were separated from general correspondence and are arranged chronologically, as is correspondence. Individual Attractions and Special Events are arranged alphabetically and within a particular topic chronologically. If a subject area had a substantial amount of clippings, with no accompanying correspondence, they were moved into a separate folder. The bulk of the material is Series I, Correspondence; which contains typed and handwritten letters, and occasional clippings with accompanying correspondence. Series II, Individual Attractions/Special Events contains information on individual attractions and special events hosted by the Commission, many of which are mentioned within correspondence. Meeting minutes relating to special events are also included. Series III, Advertisements/Media Releases, contains promotional avenues used by the Bureau to promote the Commission; including clippings, tourist information, photographs, media releases and advertisements.
