Bain family fonds

Fonds consists of postcards, a family bible, marriage and birth certificates, deeds, photographs and schoolbooks belonging to Frances Bain. Fonds includes information on relatives and friends of the family as well, workmates of her father, as well as records from the Canadian Pacific Railway.

George Cooke fonds

Fonds consists of records and other material created and accumulated by George Cooke. Fonds includes postcards, photographs of George Cooke at York Runnymede Collegiate, and of relatives including his parents, a program for commencement, records from Humberside Collegiate and the YMCA, as well as a collection of annotated menus from 1930s, and correspondence between the West Toronto Junction Historical Society and George Cooke from 1980s. Fonds also includes clippings from his contributions to the West Toronto Weekly, "The Game Bag" as well as "Fins, Fur, and Feathers" from the Etobikoke Press. Also includes correspondence with the editor. Two gramophones held by the West Toronto Junction Historical Society that were donated by George Cooke, also form part of this fonds.

Fonds includes of historical drawings of the Carleton-Davenport area, writings of historical memories of life in West Toronto from the early part of the century, photographs, correspondence and articles.

Fonds consists of approximately 110 membership rosters from 1931 to 1986 with some years missing, invoices and letterhead, postcards of founding members and architect of the Runnymede Lawn Bowling Club, photocopies of newspaper articles documenting Diamond Anniversary of club and a booklet compiled by R.P. Webber entitled, "A Quarter Century of Lawn Bowling." Includes photographs of presidents including founder Oscar Evans. Photographs depict tournament winners from 1920s, '30s and '40s, seasonal opening portraits showing entire membership, and a photograph taken in Chicago at the National Lawn Bowling Association tournament. Fonds also includes a trophy for the Ontario Lawn Bowling Association's Tip Top Trophy won by various clubs in Toronto such as Monarch Park, Parkside Club, Glen Manor, Morningside, Kew Beach Club, St. Matthews, West Toronto, Boulvevard Club, North Toronto, as well as Runnymede and a pennant from the Ontario Lawn Bowling Association's doubles tournament in 1960 and a commemorative plaque and one club badge.

Fonds consists of records created and accumulated by the West Toronto Historical Society in the fulfilment of its mandate. Fonds consists of meeting minutes, financial records ,including financial statements and reports from 1980 to the present, and newsletters from 1985. Also included a number of reports. The Heart of the Junction project covered the central area of the town of West Toronto Junction. The study was a pilot project, sponsored by Heritage Canada, performed by the West Toronto Junction Historical Society, focusing on a detailed study of the street through a building-by-building inventory. The series includes an assembled slide image collection of the streetscape North and South, from Dundas to Runnymede Road. The CPR West Toronto Junction Engine House report, completed in 1997, includes an historical and architectural evaluation of the building and brief history of the rail yard in the Junction, as well as maps and photographs.
