Collection consists of the records of various committees and meetings of the American Ornithologists’ Union (AOU). The records were likely collected and compiled by a Royal Ontario Museum staff member who was also a member of the AOU.
Fonds consists of C.J.S. Bethune’s catalogue of moths and butterflies, as well as one item of correspondence.
The catalogue contains specimen identifications and locations for some of Bethune specimens that are now in the ROM’s collection.
The letter is from Professor John B. Smith of the New Jersey Agricultural College Experimental Station, Entomological Department, to Dr. Bethune, and is dated February 21, 1891.
