The fonds consists of completed questionnaires from 224 Canadian printmakers in which they discuss their work, education and formative influences. This data was collected for an unpublished work on printmaking in Canada. Many of the files contain photographic reproductions of works which Jules Heller apparently acquired with the purpose of including them in the book. In addition, there are some exhibit catalogues, correspondence and research materials. There are also nine cassette tapes of interviews with the artists: Pat Martin Bates, David Blackwood, John K. Esler, Paul Fournier & Jo Manning, Vera Frankel, Christopher Pratt, David Samilla, Gordon Smith and John Snow; most conducted in 1973. The fonds also contains corrected galley proofs of 'Printmaking today' (1972 edition).
