Esquesing Historical SocietyFonds consists of a report by the Ad Hoc Working Group on Naval Programmes and entitled “Study on Size and Shape of Royal Canadian Navy 1964-1974”. The purpose of the report was to study and report on the size and shape of the RCN over the next five to ten years. The report was prepared at the direction of the Chief of Naval Staff who instructed the Group that the aim of the Navy was to be primarily effective for anti-submarine warfare and to also have a capability for United Nations peacekeeping operations and limited war.

Lillie, Adam, 1803-1869The fonds consists of correspondence, articles, diaries, subject files, news clippings, scrapbooks, photographs, manuscript notes and notebooks. Adam Shortt's involvement with Queen's University, his work as Chairman of the Civil Service Commission, his work as first Chairman of the Board of Historical Publications of the Public Archives, his active career as a public speaker, and his creative output are all reflected in the papers. There is also a large series of autographs that Shortt collected over the course of his life.
