Fonds consists of two files of material collected by a Collateral Board of Inquiry during its investigation of the circumstances surrounding the 9 December 1989 accident of helicopter CH135128 near El Gorah, Egypt. File 1 includes an accident narrative, crash area maps, crash sequence and wreckage diagrams, witness statements, annexes, statements of the Board members, causes and findings, recommendations and remarks by various commanders. File 1 also includes photograhs of the accident scene and documentation, including pages of aircrew log books, forms and aircraft registers. File 2 includes witness statements, terms of reference, excerpts from log books, statement by the Board, findings, recommendations, Commander’s remarks and decisions, and other documents.

Collection consists of files regarding the Board of Inquiry on the Canadian Airborne Regiment Battle Group and its investigation into the murder of a Somalian in 1993-1994. Includes press clippings, messages, reports, briefing notes, chronology of events and various other documents. Some of the more prominent documents include a statement by the Chief of Defence Staff and a briefing for the Somalia Commission.

Fonds consists of one compact disk with copies of documents from the Board of Inquiry on the collision of HMCS Kootenay and M/V Nord Pol in 1989. These documents include, but are not limited to: terms of reference of the inquiry; official statements of officers; official report of the collision; lists of witnesses, and transcripts of their evidence; the HMCS Kootenay’s damage report; and a copy of the Board of Inquiry’s report. The fonds also includes legal documents produced during the trial, including the Statement of Claim, Statement of Defence and Counter Claim, and Action for Damage by Collision. All documents that were withheld in accordance with the Access to Information Act are noted with a sheet indicating which pages have been removed.

Fonds consists of two volumes regarding the inquiry the investigation of the circumstances attending the several cases of methyl alcohol poisoning on board the HMCS Magnificent on the 21st and 22ns of January 1955. Volume 1 includes the summary of events, the Board’s findings and recommendations, the minutes of proceedings and a letter from Doctor DJ Tonning. The letter concerned the prognosis in Acute Methyl Alcohol poisoning and results of the prompt diagnosis of the medical officers. Volume 2 includes the list of exhibits.

Fonds consists of five volumes documenting British Overseas Airways Corporation's Return Ferry Service Operations Movements over the North Atlantic during 1941 to 1944. The handwritten records show daily movement of the aircraft, mostly the Liberator, between Great Britain and Canada. The record structure consists of aircraft type, dates and hours of departure and arrival, and occasionally the names of the crew. Also includes newspaper clippings.

Fonds consists of a reference manuscript handbook on Cyprus, the Turk and Greek Cypriot forces and the United Nations Force in Cyprus. It includes maps, diagrams, organization drafts and other documents. There are also images of weapons used. More specifically, some of the records would include identification and location of Home Guard Units, staffs lists, Military camps and installations, command structures, order of battle, tactical group boundaries, etc. A Canadian officer using United Nations information that has been open for years produced this document. Further, the “personalities” described here are all public figures; their lives are well covered on the Internet.
