This includes summary of the hearings (1937-1940), and transcripts of private sittings with the Manitoba and New Brunswick delegations (1938). In addition, there is material from Commission staff in the form of memoranda (1937-1938), precis of discussions (1938-1939), bibliographies and Orders-in-Council, tax forms and notes and estimates relating to unemployment in Canada (1938-1939). There are also copies of several reports issued by the Commission on the taxing power in Canada, debt adjustment, excise duties, and studies of federal systems in other countries.

For Tawney there are notes on a book about the economic thinker Henry George (which was apparently never written), chapters in typescript and handwritten for 'Equality,' and page proofs for 'Twentieth Century socialism,' as well as articles and reviews (in typescript and handwritten and published) for 'The highwayman,' (publication of the Workers' Educational Association), correspondence with colleagues in adult education and history, and a scrapbook of newspaper clippings with some handwritten correspondence, relating to the Tawney family in England and India. For the Workers' Educational Association there are galleys of articles, and related correspondence for 'The highwayman'. There is also material of a general nature, including reports, correspondence and conference proceedings, and articles related to the education of trade unionists.
