Records in this series pertain to Marilou McPhedran's association with the University of Waterloo and her two terms, in 1994 and 2000, as Planner-in-Residence at the University of Waterloo's School of Planning. These records predominantly document McPhedran's work at the University of Waterloo during the fall of 2000, when she taught a seminar course titled "Building healthy communities : local to global human rights." Also included in this series are records pertaining to conferences of the Pragma Council, with which McPhedran became involved through her association with the University of Waterloo. File in this series include notes, course materials, correspondence, conference materials, memoranda, newspaper clippings, journal articles, and a CD-ROM.
Fonds consists of Lindstrom's professorial and scholarly research files throughout her career, as well as records documenting her academic activities. Research files pertain to her publications and monographs such as "Defiant Sisters : A Social History of Finnish Immigrant Women in Canada, 1890-1930" (both the English and Finnish editions), and "From Heroes to Enemies : Finns in Canada, 1937-1947," as well as book chapters, articles, papers, presentations and lectures, and her involvement with the National Film Board production "Letters from Karelia," and subsequent research. The research files span the activities of Finnish and Finnish-Canadian organizations across the political spectrum, such as the Finnish Organization of Canada (left wing), and Loyal Finns in Canada (right wing). Records include oral history interviews (audio cassettes and transcripts), research notes, clippings, a significant and extensive number of photograph and letter collections passed down through generations of Finnish Canadians, diaries, correspondence, publication drafts, academic and professorial notes, microfilm of Finnish language newspapers published in Canada and archival records, financial records of Finnish-Canadian organizations such as newspapers and post-World War II relief funding bodies, scrapbooks, photocopies of rare and unusual documents such as two volumes of a Soviet register of Finnish War Crimes, a list of persons found in the mass grave at Karhumaki, and Soviet lists of North American Finns who journeyed to Karelia to help build a socialist utopia there, academic and professorial files, publicity files, files pertaining to her work with the School of Women's Studies, and her own papers as a university student. The fonds also includes letters written by Lindstrom as a newly-arrived teenaged immigrant to Canada to her best friend in Finland; many of these letters were published in Finnish with English translation in 'Letters from an immigrant teenager' in 2012.
Lindström, VarpuCollection includes published annual reports of Deseronto Methodist Church for 1902, 1912, 1923 and 1924; souvenir booklet of the Methodist Church, 1911-1912; typewritten history of the Deseronto United Church from the 1860s up to 1976 (apparently extracted from minutes of the Board); newspaper clippings relating to church members and ministers, 1960s; a few photographs of church members, 1960s; printed orders of service 1970s-1980.
The fonds consists of minute and cash books, Tweedsmuir history books, a guest book for the 25th anniversary, the account book for the Victoria W.I. Red Cross Society, membership cards, certificates, programmes and multiple publications including history books, songbooks and handbooks of the Women’s Institute. Port Hope ArchivesThis collection represents materials originating or used by W.C. Mikel. The first folder contains three speeches delivered during his time as Police Magistrate and Mayor. The next series of folders contains references and sources for his volume The City of Belleville History. The second folder contains correspondence regarding the book. Folders three through ten contain the notes Mikel used for each chapter. Folder eleven contains the plans for “Quinte City" and documents from the Town Planning Institute among others. Folder twelve contains unattributed reference material and general research for the book. Folder thirteen contains Mikel's collection of material for the 1924 United Empire Loyalist celebration which was held during his first term as Mayor. Folder fourteen contains Mrs. Mikel's obituary, a letter from Mikel to the Bank of Montreal, and a letterhead from the period he served as Police Magistrate. Folder fifteen contains three copies of his book, Godlove Mikel. The sixtenth folder contains a variety of newspaper clippings.
Mikel, William CharlesThe records of the Walford-Nepahwin Neighbourhood Ratepayers Association fonds include: minutes, reports, maps, correspondence, pamphlets and newspaper clippings. The documents provide insight to the activities of this group from 1974 to 1996. The records show that through the years, the group has been active in: the preservation of the Lily Creek Conservation Area, bylaws regulating commercial land development and commercial signs, the disposal of hazardous wastes, recycling, the repercussions of a teachers' strike, and the controversial issue of slurry trucks and traffic safety.

Port Hope ArchivesCollection consists of posters designed by Will Munro for events organized by him at various venues in downtown Toronto. Item is a poster originally pasted on the back the handwritten words of what the poster was to read in regards to the stolen animal. The poster was commissioned by William Berry, 3rd Concession of Hope Township. Comments on poster indicate that 50 were printed and the cost was $1.50. This piece is believed to be a printer's proof.

Furby, WilliamThe fonds consists of materials related to the personal and business activities of William Porte. Included are diaries, ledgers, and albums and scrapbooks of newspaper clippings. Some material from two of his children (Fred W. and Ida Kate Porte) is included. William Porte’s papers provide an excellent snapshot in the life of a growing Ontario town in the late 19th century. In recent years, Porte's personal papers have been studied and cited extensively, most notably by those researching the infamous February 4, 1880 murder of the Donnelly family.
