The papers consist of four series.
Series A: Archer family letters, most with stamped envelopes (1833-1856), Confederate money (1864) Files 1-17.
Series B: Philatelic collection, originals and xerox. (1884-1930). Many local businesses represented on envelope covers. Files 18-19B.
Series C: Receipts, invoices and deeds relating to the Archer and Breckenridge families. (1839-1930). Files 20-31.
Series D: Poetry and various other ephemera. (1793-1936). Songbooks and copybooks being the oldest in this series (1793-1837). Files 32-46.

Williams; (3) Envelope stamped 1861 addressed to "Arthur H. Williams Esq Port Hope C. W.;" (4) Envelope addressed "Arthur T. H. Williams Esq MP Ottawa, O." 1881; (5) A postcard postmarked 1907 sent to Mrs. Passmore, Hill & Dale, Port Hope. Scene on front is "R. N. W. M Police Barracks Regina tower is where Louis Riel was hanged."

Series consists of fourteen (14) 8mm film reels taken by John "Jack" Austin on a Kodak Brownie Movie Camera Turret f/1.9, 1960-1964. It includes footage of family Christmas (several years), the Austin family home at 27 Trefusis Street, Fred Austin's Cottages at Keane (Rice Lake), Edgar Eley's Holstein Farm, Calithumpian parades, the last steam train out of Port Hope, the marriage of Shirley Eley to Robert Payne at Port Hope United Church, and various family vacations (i.e. Ottawa, 1000 Islands, Santa's Village, Vermont, Maine, New Brunswick, Healey Falls, Lovesick Lake, Niagara Falls, and Algonquin Park). Most of the footage includes John and Lorna and their sons, Larry and Don. For more detail on each individual reel, please refer to the box list.
