This fonds consists of research in 19th century Canadian historical geography, mainly in Upper Canada/Ontario, focused on emigration from the U.K. and settlement in Newcastle (Peterborough County) District and London (Talbot Settlement) District. Included in the research materials are several maps, a small collection of photo negatives, and microfilm reels.

Item is a 'Peterborough Normal School Year Book, 1940', signed by many of the students. The Year Book includes students from Port Hope, including Ruth Trott, I. Symons, E, Retallick, M. Douglas, and M. Dunbar.

File consists of ten (10) documents of correspondence regarding the Peterborough and Port Hope Railway Company. Included are 39 cassette tapes (and transcripts) of interviews by Munroe Scott with Dominion Sculptor Eleanor Milne and with authors, artists, and academics associated with Milne's work.

File consists of a Land Deed for Lot 21 Con 4, Cavan Township. The deed was registered in Port Hope and witnessed by William Henderson of Port Hope, who also provide a witness statement. The repaired deed was mended with newsprint showing Sheriff sales in an 1824 newspaper.

Two awards are also included, 1 for the efforts of a flood control team in 1981 and 1 safety award received in 1960. The fonds also includes a plastic Corbin sign and a key made at the plant.

Fonds is comprised of photographs, letters, speeches, articles, newspaper clippings and historical research notes related to the life of Kathleen Richmond Barclay Bowley. Much of the fonds relates to Bowley’s interest and experience in the Women’s Royal Canadian Naval Service and her participation in the Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW) Peterborough Club. Also included are dozens of Barclay family ancestral letters (description to be added at a later date).
