The fonds consists of typescripts for two of David Bakan's publications: the first title, 'Freud and the tradition of Jewish mysticism,' (1957) includes handwritten changes to the typescript in pencil and ink. The second title is a typescript copy of 'And they took themselves wives: the emergence of patriarchy in western civilization,' (1979). It has been copy-edited, showing/the editorial work of more than one hand, as well as handwritten additions to the text.

The fonds consists of Dr. Vanarsdale Blakslee's personal and medical business receipts between the years of 1915 and 1940. There are receipts for medical supplies, tax receipts, and personal receipts such as household bills and car repairs. Many of the medical supply invoices are for products shipped by mail from Toronto or Montreal. Some of these companies in Toronto include: J.F Hartz Co. Limited, Ingram & Bell, Ethical Drug Products Limited, and from Montreal Frank W. Horner Limited, Manufacturing Chemists. The majority of the receipts are from local businesses in Belleville and surrounding areas such as: F.W Jeffery Harware Merchant, Midland, Ontario, F.S Anderson Co. Fonds consists of correspondence, position papers, photographs and biographical files created or accumulated by Dr. Cowan during his professional and academic career, as a member of various committees and as a result of his interest in the history of medicine. Fonds includes correspondence and position papers relating to the Princess Margaret Hospital’s relocation and the merger between Toronto General Hospital and Toronto Western Hospital in the 1980s. Fonds also includes correspondence with Dr. O. Harold Warwick, biographical files on key players in the history of cancer care in Ontario including slides from talks given and copies of papers written, and photographs documenting the destruction of the Bell Wing and the construction of the Clinical Services Building at the Toronto General Hospital.

Included are ledgers, research notes, correspondence, programmes, invitations, scrapbooks, postcard collection, photographs, books, newspaper clippings; and copies of diaries, letters and reminiscences of various Middlesex County residents dating. The fonds consists of records created between 1883 - 1951.

The Dr. F. W. Luney fonds consists of 14 series (and 2 subseries) of records chronicling his scholarly beginnings as a medical student at the University of Western Ontario, his appointment as Senior Pathologist at Victoria Hospital, and the extent of his professional career as Clinical Laboratory Chief at St. Joseph’s Hospital until his retirement in 1961. During his career, Dr. Luney would enlist in the Canadian Army Medical Services Division during WWI, establish a Clinical Pathology Laboratory at St. Joseph’s Hospital in 1928, conduct extensive research in blood transfusion techniques, direct the opening of the Blood Bank Department and St. Joseph’s Hospital in 1945, establish private consulting services for smaller hospitals in southern Ontario, and create the Dr. F. W. Luney Fund to raise funds for the Medical Library at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Records of note include: well-maintained, original photographs of Dr. Luney and fellow classmates posing with a cadaver; records created to document body parts and organs donated to Luney’s private “Museum”; personal notebooks outlining his medical training and professional experiences; a selection of diplomas and certificates; records of his $5,000 donation to the Medical Library at St. Joseph’s Hospital; photographs depicting the two-person multiple syringe apparatus he invented; notes from lectures and seminars that he gave on pathology and blood transfusion-related subjects; and a 60th anniversary portrait of Dr. F. W. Luney with his fellow 1914 graduates.

Fonds consists of letters, cards and photographs documenting the relationship between Dr. O. Harold Warwick and former patient Archibald (Archie) Reid. In addition, fonds also includes two copies of an unpublished memoir by Mr. Reid entitled “Diary of an Illness” which recounts Mr. Reid’s experience of cancer. The second copy of this manuscript includes Dr. Warwick’s editorial comments. A photocopy of the case of A.R. as published in Tilden C. Everson and Warren H. Cole, Spontaneous Regression of Cancer (W. B. Saunders Company, 1966) is also included.

In particular the fonds provides information about Dr. Bigelow's contributions to the advancement of cardiac surgery and the treatment of heart disease, especially his central accomplishments in contributing to the innovation and development of the surgical use of hypothermia in open-heart surgery and the electrical artificial cardiac pacemaker.
