The fonds consists of correspondence, reports, newspaper clippings, minutes and related material for the Avenue-Bay-Cottingham Ratepayers' Association and the Marlborough Avenue Ratepayers' Association. This includes correspondence between Jack Granatstein and Marathon Realty, correspondence with City of Toronto officials, reports of various City departments, minutes of meetings of the Ratepayers' Associations and of advocacy bodies in the city, and reports of Task Forces established by the City and Metropolitan Toronto.

Fonds consists of Jack Granatstein's research files, committee files (including minutes, memoranda, etc.), correspondence, professorial files (including notes, lectures, departmental business), financial records, publication files, printed materials, specialized series such as the Canada Council records, Hitchcock Farm financial records, the Royal Society of Canada, the Special Committee on the Restructuring of the Reserves; and oral history projects exploring the Conservative Party and the Liberal Party.

Fonds consists of transcripts of interviews for “The Generals : the Canadian Army’s Senior Commanders in the Second World War”. The book described the more important military leaders of Canada during the Second World War: McNaughton; Crerar; Burns; Simonds; Mathews; Hoffmeister; Pope; and Stuart. The author analysed many others top military commanders, and the absence of francophone generals was signified in the last chapter.
