Included are biographies and genealogies of local people, historical information relating to churches, local towns such as Fergus and Berlin (Kitchener), Mennonites, Robbie Burns' ancestors, as well as miscellaneous articles and documents. Also included are a large quantity of research notes left by Byerly. The records consist of notes, correspondence, maps, ephemera, copied material, newspaper clippings, and notebooks.
