Series consists of awards and other distinctions received by Jane Bigelow for her public service from various institutions and organizations including the London Business and Professional Women's Club, the University of Western Ontario, the London Cycling Club, the Urban League of London, as well as a certificate of thanks from the Prime Minister and the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal. Also included are nominations, letters of congratulation, a curriculum vita, newspaper clippings, a convocation program and other mementos of awards ceremonies.

Series consists of biographical records, in particular those that describe Jane Bigelow's elections and political career. Included are recordings of various radio programs including a report of the 1971 election night, an account of her election by city council in 1972 (and an accompanying transcript), a radio program about Jane Bigelow, an evaluation and editorial. The series also include a video recording about London citizens who had an impact on the city.

Series consists of records created and acquired by Jane Bigelow during her time as mayor and controller in the city of London. Records relate to all aspects of municipal politics including planning and building, police, education, transportation, housing, public utilities and community services. The series also contains records of the Board of Control and various committees as well as publicity materials, administrative records, financial records, records relating to the 1981 Canada Summer Games and reference materials related to municipal politics and London. Also included is a daily journal kept by Jane Bigelow in 1974.

Series consists of records created, acquired and used by Jane Bigelow and her supporters during her various campaigns for public office. Records relate to her campaigns for Board of Control in 1969, 1971 and 1980 and her campaigns for mayor in 1973, 1974, 1976 and 1978. Records include campaign committee meeting minutes, publicity materials, instructions for campaign workers, lists of electors, election surveys, poll results and other records related to the campaigns. Also included are flyers and promotional materials for other candidates who ran for various positions in London.

Fonds consists primarily of records documenting Jane Bigelow's political career from 1969 - 1980, with the majority of the material dealing with her terms as mayor and controller as well as her various election campaigns. Included are municipal project files; records relating to the activities of the London and Middlesex NDP Ridings Association and the NDP of Ontario; campaign materials; correspondence; speeches; and newspaper clippings. Also included in the fonds are photographs documenting Bigelow's career; awards and other recognitions that she received; biographical records documenting her elections, public service and the contributions that she made to London; and a fictional novel about a female mayor in the city of London.

Series consists of records created and acquired by Jane Bigelow during her time as president of the London and Middlesex NDP Ridings Association. Series includes the associations' constitution; meeting minutes; news bulletins, meeting notices and other general messages sent out to the membership; statements of resources used; nominations records; and a brief submitted to the Royal Commission on the Status of Women.
Also included are records of the provincial executive of the NDP acquired and created by Jane Bigelow in her capacity as vice-president of the NDP of Ontario. Records include executive council minutes, records of the municipal affairs committee, newsletters, election campaign materials, correspondence, resolutions and reports as well as a handbook for municipal politicians which Jane Bigelow was responsible for.

Series consists of newspaper clippings collected by Jane Bigelow covering news of her campaigns and activities in municipal politics, awards that she received and topics which were of interest to her. Also included are a scrapbook of newspaper clippings and several Ting editorial cartoons featuring Jane Bigelow which were published in the London Free Press.

Series consists of photographs documenting Jane Bigelow's time as mayor and controller in the city of London. Included are portraits of Jane Bigelow and the Board of Control as well as photographs of her chairing meetings, working in her office, campaigning, speaking with members of the public, doing interviews and attending various events. Also included are photographs of Jane Bigelow's family, various buildings and photo albums documenting her 1976 campaign and her trip to Israel for a meeting of mayors. Some of the photographs were taken by London Free Press photographers reporting on various events while others were taken for use in campaign leaflets, newspaper ads and other promotional materials. A small number of photographs are of a personal nature and document trips and gatherings.
