Series consists of Volume 1 of three volumes which constituted the final report on a study performed for the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) on a ship launched Close Range Missile System for the new DDH-280 destroyers and OSS supply ships. The volume in Part 1 reports on the technical study of the RCN proposed Close range Missile System and in Part 2 reports on a company funded study of an alternate approach to a Close Range Missile System for the RCN. The difference in the two systems regarding the type of launcher and fire control system utilized and the advantages the alternate system provided in both operational effectiveness and cost are discussed.

Series consists of technical notes produced by the Director General Fighting Equipment, Royal Canadian Navy on various naval weapons and systems. The technical notes were designed to analyse and draw conclusions about the naval equipment. The reports were meant to test the limits on some naval equipment and test potential improvements on others. The systems covered in the notes range from: very deep sonar equipment, vibrations of towing cables, preliminary analysis on hydrofoil craft, and notes on design of shipboard HF communication systems. The file labeled ‘Miscellaneous’ contains an inventory of technical reports and a miniature mock-up of the hardcover used when submitting technical reports. The folder also contains a coloured photograph of Queen Elizabeth II , a hand written version of the technical report index and other assorted technical notes and memos.
