Administrative history

Huron Park Secondary School is a high school located in Woodstock, Ontario and was built in 1955. Huron Park S.S. publishes a yearbook annually titled the “Argus” created by and for students at the school, the first yearbook was published in 1961. In 1967, a new wing was added to the school to accommodate facilities for a Trades and Technology program. Currently, there are approximately 800 students attending Huron Park S.S.

Custodial history

These "Argus" yearbooks were created by students/yearbook staff at Huron Park Secondary School in Woodstock, Ontario beginning in the year 1961. Several of the yearbooks were accumulated by Fran Foster and donated to the Oxford County Archives on her behalf on December 4, 2018.

Scope and content

The fonds consists of records related to the history and activities of the Huron Park Secondary School located in Woodstock, Ontario. The yearbooks contain class portraits, pictures of teaching staff, sports teams and clubs, graduating classes and information on a variety of school events. They are arranged into the following series and subseries:

Physical condition

The materials are in good condition. Two yearbooks (1971-72 and 1985) have staining from dead mold. Conservation has been applied.

Immediate source of acquisition

The County of Oxford Archives received the records from Dan Foster on behalf of Fran Foster on December 4, 2018.
