    Signor Guillermo Antonio Farini (1838-1929) was born William Hunt in the state of New York before moving to Ontario at an early age, where he became a tightrope walker, circus impresario, explorer, author, painter and inventor.

    Scope and content

    Fonds consists of the records of Senior Guillermo Antonio Farini. Fonds includes manuscripts and notes for his various books such as The History of World War I. Also included are more than forty patents and nine specifications for his inventions. Fonds also contains Farini's autobiographical and biographical materials. In addition, fonds contains Anna Farini's records, 1835-1945, including her diaries, personal and business correspondence, as well as her will. Also included are 96 photographs, mostly of Farini, Anna, Lulu and various circus scenes. Fonds also contains 19 paintings by Farini. In addition, fonds includes 3 maps of South Africa and the Kalahari area. Fonds also includes 3 artifacts: Farini's signature stamp; a leather pouch with his Masonic lodge apron and membership; and a carved wooden lithograph block.
