Biographical history
Frank Paul Malinsky (1890-1984) was a pastor, archivist, and president of the Ontario District of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (now East District of Lutheran Church-Canada). Born in Iola, Illinois, he studied at Concordia College, Milwaukee (Wis.), graduated from Concordia Lutheran Theological Seminary, St. Louis (Mo.), and was ordained in 1912. He served the Ontario District congregations of Stratford from 1912 to 1917, Normanby, Howick and Mount Forest from 1917 to 1927, Seebach's Hill from 1927 to 1929, and Elmira and Floradale from 1929 to 1963. He was Ontario District secretary from 1918 to 1921, president of the district from 1921 to 1948, and was the first official district archivist from 1930 to 1968. He married Anna Krey of Conklin, Michigan in 1913 and had seven children, Wilfred, Marie, Ruth, Vera, Walter, Irene and August, who died in 1921. His wife Anna died in 1924. He married Thusnelda Schaus of Kitchener in 1937 and had one son, Grant. In 1954, he was instrumental in compiling a history of the Ontario District, titled "Grace and Blessing." Frank Malinsky received an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis (Mo.) in 1972.

Fonds consists of sermons of Frank Malinsky, 1911-1972; papers delivered at auxiliary organizations of the East District of Lutheran Church-Canada and Elmira (Ont.) community functions such as school dedications and graduations, Junior Chamber of Commerce and Town Council inauguration, 1936-1964; research files on individual cults, 1922-1954; college notebooks in German on world history, Greek, Hebrew, Latin and composition; seminary notebooks in German on homiletics, catechetics, dogmatics, religious education, theology, and exegesis of Luke, 1st John, Psalms, Genesis and Isaiah.
