Custodial history
Scope and content
Collection consists of a copy of orders for the Canadian Postal Corps units posted in Korea, military posters, newspaper images and a newspaper publicity bulletin. The majority of the posters and newspaper images date from the Second World War, one from 1907 and one from 1918. The publicity bulletin dates from 1964. These images are propaganda or publicity, with one recruitment poster for the Royal Canadian Navy and an advertisement for Victory Bonds. The units referred to in the images include: the Fusiliers Mont-Royal, the Régiment de la Chaudière, and the Royal 22nd Regiment. The publicity bulletin celebrates the 40th anniversary of the Royal Canadian Air Force and the 18th Annual Air Force Day. The orders include war diaries excerpts for the months of September 1953 and April 1954. The orders also include weekly duties, general information on the postal office movements, discipline and multiple nominal rolls.
